Tom Fitzharris met artist Edward Gorey in 1974 after buying one of his drawings, the pair striking up an immediate friendship. In the following year Gorey sent a total of 50 letters to Fitzharris. The renowned author and illustrator shared news, opinions, quotes and jokes, covering his envelopes with pen and ink drawings and filling them with surprises. Presented here for the first time, the envelopes and messages reveal a friendship full of humour, imagination and gossip, with an introduction by Tom Fitzharris and his notes at the back of the book, referencing the correspondence.
