The Story
Wisteria sinensis, also called Wisteria chinensis, creates the superbly luscious late spring display that is so traditional throughout the Cotswolds. This long living climber with woody stems produces a mass of pinnate leaves deepening from bright to deep green. Before the foliage appears, dramatic cascades of pea-like flowers drip colour and scent down the walls against which they are conventionally trained.
