The Story
This striking species hybrid first flowered in 1823 and is notable for its appealing, heart shaped, red feathering on its pink petals. Pelargonium echinatum ‘Mrs Stapleton’ has semi-succulent, spiny stems and hairy underside to its foliage. Influenced by its South African origins, where many species grow and flower during the cooler, wetter season, it can flower from autumn through to spring under the right conditions- especially in a greenhouse or conservatory in the UK. Each plant arrives planted in a terracotta 15cm pot.
